TV makers are constantly finding ways to improve upon the picture quality of HDTVs. These improvements range from barely noticeable to dramatic. Here are 2 of this years latest technology enhancements to hit the market:
120Hz Refresh Rate:
Flat-Panel LCD and Projection TVs with this feature can display twice as many video frames per second as standard TVs. The benefit is smoother, clearer motion (especially from side to side) thanks to reduced blurring and ghosting.
LED Illumination:
On some rear-projection DLP HDTVs, superbright colored LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) have replaced the typical arc lamp and spinning "color wheel". LEDs provide extrememely precise color and brightness control, and unlike lamps, are designed to last the life of the TV, no replacement needed.
